Mt Camel Range Shiraz

Harcourt Valley Heathcote Shiraz

Medium weight with a surprising softness and elegance

Heathcote is a wine growing region 40 minutes from Harcourt Valley Vineyards (HVV).  The soils here are Cambrian – red and deep with excellent water holding capacity.

HVV sources some excellent fruit grown on these soils and crafts the wine with minimal intervention to reflect the terroir from where it comes.  The wine shows a typical deep red hue that you would expect from the region, however the palate delivers something a little more unexpected.

It shows a medium weight with a surprising softness and elegance.  The use of French and American oak gives some vanillin characters to the dark fruit flavour of the wine.

Winning a gold medal in the Heathcote Wine Show and Best Red Wine in Show at the Kyneton, this surely is a new release that won’t disappoint.
