Harcourt Valley Malbec is always a crowd pleaser. The 2012 is no exception. The very limited production of only 54 cases this year ensures that it is a very limited release.
Usually a variety that is blended away into cabernets in Australia, we at Harcourt Valley (like the South Americans) love this as a stand alone varietal.
The vines are approaching 30 years and are producing some exceptional fruit. In the winery the Malbec is matured in American oak hogs heads (300L barrel).
The combination of soft fruit flavours and smokey vanilla from the wood give the wine a unique flavour that has you coming back for more. The tannins are fine and well integrated, balancing seamlessly with the fruit.
